Situada na margem direita da Ribeira de Vide, a vila de Cabeço de Vide estende-se do alto de um cabeço até à planície, formando um rossio tido pelo mais extenso de entre Tejo e Odiana. A sua origem remontará ao Neolítico, dada a quantidade de achados arqueológicos encontrados na região. Teve importância na época romana, passando perto uma estrada que fazia a ligação das Termas da Sulfúrea à via militar Lisboa-Mérida. Incorporada em território cristão na 2ª metade do séc.XII, recebeu foral novo em 1512 e é elevada a vila e sede de concelho.

A Guerra da Restauração atinge fortemente a vila, e a sua degradação acentua-se até ao séc. XIX. O concelho é extinto em 1855 e integrado em Alter e posteriormente em Fronteira.

Possui um valioso património arquitectónico de que se destacam a igreja matriz, a torre do relógio, a igreja da Misericórdia, o cruzeiro, a antiga Casa da Câmara e as ruínas do castelo de vistas amplas sobre a região.

As termas são um dos ex-libris da vila, cujo primeiro balneário data do tempo de César Augusto (c. 119 a.C.). As suas águas são hipossalínicas, sulfúricas e oxidriladas, cloretadas, sódicas e com alto teor de iões, estando indicadas para doenças da pele, ossos e respiratórias. Recentemente as instalações foram remodeladas e acrescentada uma piscina.

A Estação Ferroviária de Cabeço de Vide-Vaiamonte, originalmente denominada de Estação de Cabeço de Vide, é uma interface desactivada do Ramal de Portalegre, que servia a localidade de Cabeço de Vide, no Concelho de Fronteira, em Portugal.
Edifício elegante com belos painéis de azulejo, datados de 1933, da autoria de Leopoldo Battistini, representando cenas
agrícolas e espaços locais. Recuperado, ali foi instalada a Estalagem Rainha D. Leonor, e nos armazéns ao lado abriu um restaurante, onde se come maravilhosamente bem, como pude comprovar nestas férias.

Cabeço de Vide ancient station, Portalegre branch line.

Situated on the right bank of the Ribeira de Vide , a village Vide extends from the top of a hillock to the plain, forming a brow had the most extensive between Tagus and Odiana . Its origin remount the Neolithic , given the amount of archaeological finds in the region . Was important in Roman times , passing by a road that was the connection of the Baths of Sulphurous the military route Lisbon- Mérida . Incorporated into Christian territory in the 2nd half séc.XII , received a new charter in 1512 and is elevated to a town and county seat .

The Restoration War affects strongly the village , and its degradation is accentuated by the century . XIX . The county is dissolved in 1855 and integrated in Alter and later in Frontier .

It has a rich architectural heritage that stand out the mother church , the clock tower , the church of Mercy , the cruise , the former Town Hall and the castle ruins expansive views of the region .

The spa is one of the symbols of the village , whose first resort dates from the time of César Augusto (c. 119 a.C.). Its waters are hipossalínicas, sulfuric and oxidriladas, chlorinated, and high sodium ion content, but are indicated for diseases of the skin, bones and respiratory system. The facilities were recently remodeled and added a pool .

Elegant building with beautiful tile panels , dated 1933 , written by Leopoldo Battistini , representing scenes agricultural and local spaces . Recovered, there was installed Inn Queen Leonor , and warehouses beside opened a restaurant , where you can eat wonderfully, as I could prove this holiday.
